Mod Rings and Things

This is a fun and fresh finish  with designs that makes it easy to create a clean, modern wall tratement. Of course you can substitute a different color palette and arrange the circles and rings to suit you own needs and taste!

Modellos used: ModSet106
Basecoat: Off White
Faux Effects, International Products:
Lusterstone  Queen Anne’s Lace, Weathered Bronze, Charred Gold, Silver Taupe, Antique Parchment, Denim Blue
Faux Crème Color Earth Brown

Tools Needed:
Japanese Trowel

Step 1
Use Japanese Trowel to apply a skip trowel coat of Queen Ann’s Lace overall. Allow to dry completely.

Step 2
Use your trowel to burnish the first Lusterstone layer. Repeat Step 1, using a harder pressure to apply a thin, burnishing layer of Lusterstone. Allow to dry completely.

Step 3
Apply the Modello pattern to the surface. Create two custom Lusterstone colors. First, combine Silver Taupe and Antique Parchment 1:1 to create “Silver Parchment”. Second add a small amount of Earth Brown color to the Denim Blue Lusterstone to create “Dirty Denim. Use these colors, along with the Weather Bronze and Charred Gold to separately fill in each circle and/or ring with 2-3 layers of color.

Step 4
Where the circles overlap, use ¼” tape to mask off the shape that you will fill in first. When dry, remove the tape and apply to the other overlapping shape to protect it and keep the colors separate.
